Self-improvement is something I sometimes have a hard time doing on my own. I can see things in my life and in my world that I’d like to improve and I like to change things. I see areas of my life and self that need improvement and I want to start working on them. I’m not getting better at anything on my own. I need to surround myself with positive people and I need to work on self-improvement.

So how do I go about self-improvement? I’ve come up with a few simple suggestions that I want to put to practice.

Start improving in small ways.

To really improve in any area of life, you have to work on small things to get you started. It’s easy to say “I’m going to work out every day”. Yes, it will be good for you, but it’s hard. It may not be something you’ll do for a week or even a month. If I’m working on some sort of health issue, it may take me a year to get myself back up to the point I’m working on other things, but I know I’ll be glad I put the effort in. When I start working on small areas of self-improvement, I have a feeling of progress rather than frustration.

It's ok to struggle.

It,s not something you want to do every day, but you’ll learn more and improve in those small areas. It’s so easy to complain about everything in your life and try to find something to complain about. It’s something you’re able to do when you’re in a continuous struggle. However, it’s not productive and it’s not a path you want to continue to take.

Learn to struggle.

You, ll be happier. You’ll see some improvement and you’ll get something out of it. Struggling has helped me grow so much. There’s no doubt about it. I have grown in ways I didn’t imagine, especially when I feel like I’m getting nowhere.

Learn to like change.

When I think of things I’d like to change about myself, it’s easy for me to say “I’d like to get in shape”. As you grow and change in your life and in your job and in other areas, things will change. If you don’t want to change, you’ll never make some of those small changes and you’ll never get the small improvements. When you’re doing small things in life, you’ll make some improvement. Just because things aren’t changing quickly doesn’t mean they aren’t getting better. They just don’t change rapidly. 

You may be working on getting into shape, but a new job is changing the way you look at things. If you’re working on getting your weight under control, you may feel like things aren’t changing rapidly enough, but things are changing and improving in some way. If you’re working on improving your health, you’re taking steps to get better and hopefully better.

Being positive is easy.

Positivity is a mindset. You have to be positive about things that are happening in your life. I’m positive about getting in shape. I’m positive about changing the way I look at my life. However, I’m not always positive when I’m thinking about how my work is going. That’s not a bad thing. There are times I’m frustrated about work. There are times I’m frustrated about my health and my weight. At other times, I’m sure I’ll be in a positive mindset. The more times you’re in a positive mindset, the better you’ll see and the better things will get.

My challenge to you is to spend some time in your life looking at self-improvement. Think of things you want to improve.Think about some areas in your life you’d like to change.Think about small changes that you can make to improve things.Think about the things that are working and consider the things you’re doing that aren’t working. It’s easier to change small things than it is to change large things. 

Small things will get better and that’s something you can strive for. Remember that you’ll get what you put in. The more you put in, the more you’ll get out. Think about small changes you’re making and think about small improvements you’re working on. When you have negative things in your life, try to keep yourself in a positive mindset. It may take a little more effort to get out of that mindset and keep things positive. That effort is worth the small improvement. It’s better to work on getting out of a bad mindset than it is to continue to dwell in one.

Self-improvement.

Self-improvement is worth the effort. It,s worth working on small things you can do. It’s worth putting in a little more effort. It’s worth working on improving the way you think. get out of that mindset. Be positive. Make those small improvements and keep improving the way you think and the way you work. If you want to improve, you’ll get out of the mindset you’re in.

Think about your self-improvement efforts and make small improvements. It’s worth the effort. You’ll see some improvement.You’ll see some small improvements.You’ll be happier.Get out of that mindset. Get positive.Get the small changes you need to make. If you keep working on getting out of the negative mindset, you’ll eventually get out and the small improvements will improve and get better over time.

Get out of that mindset and start to get positive. Get positive and make small changes to improve the way you think and work. Take small steps and you’ll get things going in a positive direction.

Stand in the way of your negative thoughts and you’ll get yourself into trouble. Follow positive thoughts and you’ll get where you want to go.

Meditate. Don’t expect instant results, but if you’re in a negative thought, meditate. Stop the negativity. Just breathe and think about your surroundings. Notice the smell of the grass or the smell of the flowers outside. Just focus on the positive and absorb the positive. Try it and get some small steps going. Take baby steps. After you focus on your breath, follow it up with some positive affirmations and you’ll get the motivation you need.

Don’t skip exercise. If you’re stressed, exercise can do a lot to help you in the long run. There’s a lot of research out there that shows that working out not only reduces stress but helps to improve health and self-improvement. A lot of doctors advise their patients to exercise more.
